Most Valuable Commodities Poem by David Harris

Most Valuable Commodities

Life hangs on a tender thread
if broken sometimes cannot be repaired.
We fight for each day's morsels
with our fluxuating source of energy,
fighting for that we may survive
for each new dawning day.
We have our guiding lights
with our family and our friends,
who we will defend with our soul
right up to the bitter end,
lest we might lose the most
valuable commodities in our life.
Those whom the little word love
is our sacred stone on which to fall.
