Mother And Child Poem by Doris Cornago

Mother And Child

Your heart
Can take anything
If you give it the boost
Kind thoughts and gentle
Moments, keep them on file
Make a bed of them on tough
Nights, when all are asleep and
You're up wondering what waits
Tomorrow, make your plans but
Prepare your heart as surprises
Litter the path, seeds on stones
Nurture them all with diligence
Hands may grow weaker but
Steady heartbeats sustain
Every waking hour, every
Step along the broken
Path, you've come a
Very long way for
Your precious
Children.
