Mother Earth © Poem by Roann Mendriq

Old Mother Earth grew weary worn
at Daylight's busy harsh routine;
She toiled for days and all alone,
with not a soul to intervene.

The tired tears she softly wept
brought life to oceans, plants and trees;
that flourished while her children slept
with happy hearts and child-like ease.

Then night arrived blue velvet dressed,
Cloud mist veiled in dark disguise;
to bid Earth stop her work and rest,
Night smiled on Earth with twinkling eyes.

Darkness brings Earth time sublime,
as mind & soul spin all the time...
