Mountain Highway Poem by Gavin Anderson

Mountain Highway

Rating: 5.0

Mountain Highway lift me high
Where the treetops touch the sky
Then home to where the ocean sings
Of surf and stars, wind and wings.

Mountain Highway lead me where
Each breath is filled with sea salt air.
From the mountains to the sea
Lead me there and let me be.

Mountain Highway I must go,
Full of sorrow and of woe,
To my home beside the sea —
Only there will I be free.

Mountain Highway take me home,
Let my heart no longer roam.
Where the mountains touch the sky,
Take me home and let me die.

A John Denver country song vibe. Really liked it. Makes me want to take a ride into the blue sky

I have no doubt that there was some John Denver rattling around in my brain when I wrote this!
