What makes such deformations so admirable?
On an otherwise smooth face of the planet
Such beautiful names given
To but towers of rock and sand
Sometimes dressed up in green
Another nature’s accident!
Unmovable, and themselves moving nothing
Ah! Some are even labeled, ‘holy’!
What inspired the gods, and men the same
To find dignity in such natural misprints
Perhaps ‘tis the same thing
That inspired the ancient Egyptians to move
Tons of stone across the desert
Having a mere aim of constructing with mathematical precision
Such unnatural misprints on a rather even desert surface
