My Beautiful Love Poem by Ravi Kopra

My Beautiful Love

I had the happy idea to fasten a bicycle wheel
to a kitchen stool and watch it turn.
—DUCHAMP

I had the happiest idea to take a framed
photograph of my lovely wife and install it
on a table in my office to watch her
smiling at me, eye to eye.

I smile when I watch her. She reminds me
of the happiest times of my life - delicious
dishes she makes for me, warm bed she keeps
for me. So soft, beautiful, thoughtful
is she. Mother of my young son and a lovely
daughter is she. I am what I am because of her
and nobody would I be without her...
