My Best Friend Poem by Michelle Asswit

My Best Friend

Rating: 5.0

Me and her have been through a lot together
She'd lift me up when I was under the weather
She'd keep me warm by lending me her sweater
She was my best friend
We'd talk and laugh everyday
And when we didn't it was still okay
Because our friendship stood so tall
that we'd barely have to talk at all
At least that's what I thought
When she used that excuse
She was with other people
I was becoming a recluse
I began to call her a good friend
Then I just called her a friend
Now I barely know her
I don't know her world
I don't know that girl
She isn't like she was before
Now she works for the lord
