I felt so nervous about meeting
the people I was going to see,
then we arrived and those nerves vanished within the hugs.
Everyone said it would be all right,
but I wasn’t sure.
Now I know they were right.
They have taken us under their wing
making our holiday the best one we’ve ever had.
The biggest sadness will be when we have to part
and I know that when I leave
I will be leaving a piece of my heart.
I will never have any regrets
for I know I have done the right thing.
I have travelled thousands of miles to meet with friends
that have made my heart sing.
The words when you come back again
brought tears to this humble man.
Knowing that from being an outsider
I finally found where I fit inside.
The wellspring of friendship
has overflowed with their kindness,
the kind we are all looking for.
I feel a warmth inside like I’ve never felt before.
Each moment in their company
stores more memories to treasure
for as long as I may live.

David, there is so much emotion with grateful love in this poem. Your words flow with warm ink as I read 'I feel a warmth inside like I've never felt before'. These chronicles will be so treasured for ever. 10 Karin Anderson
