Knock, knock! O' Almighty,
Hearing me?
Take everything I possess today,
Return the lost glory of my childhood!
Take all my money,
Return me that single penny, to buy that sweet sugar candy!
Take all my gold and diamonds,
Return me those shiny conch shells!
Take all my degree and certificates,
Return me that colorful feather of peacock!
Take all my power and freedom,
Return me my dad's strong arms, to hold me tightly!
Take all my confidence and boldness I aquired these years,
Return me my affectionate mother's shawl, to hide behind shyly!
Take my four wheeler,
Return me my brother's strong shoulder, to carry me everywhere!
Take all my egoistic, selfish friends,
Return me my best friend- maid's child, accompanied me everywhere!
Take all my wardrobe collection,
Return me my pink frock, full of laces!
Take away that dressing table full of cosmetics,
Return my innocent dimpled smile on those chebby cheeks!
O' Almighty,
Take everything of mine, just return me
a single day of my childhood-my lost glory! !

Fantastic poem. One's childhood cannot be purchased by or exchanged with the costliest possessions that one has. Thank you so much. This goes into MyPoemList.
