My Choice Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

My Choice

Now you say you understand.
And I am expected to accept,
Whatever it is you comprehend.
After several years of ending,
Your disappearance.
And now you wish to make me a part,
Of your travels down memory lane!

I don't know what you'd like to hear.
But let me make this very clear...
No one has it like that in my life.
To disappear and reappear...
And do whatever they like.
To treat me as if I exist without feelings?
I don't think so!
And as far as your presence goes right now...
I have no idea who you are!
And that's my choice.
