My Dad - Poem by Anna Dietze

I sat at home I got that call
The call no one wants to get
I came to you lying so still
I kissed your face and held you close

You looked so peaceful like lying sleeping
The memories of you I'm always keeping
If I could have one last day
I'd cherish every second

You are my dad. You are my friend
I never thought that this would end
From your daughter and your friend
I love you dad and always will
