My Favorite View Poem by Donward Caniete Bughaw

My Favorite View

The world out there is loud and full of noise.
But everything goes quiet at your voice.
I used to count the stars to fall asleep.
Now you're the only anchor that I keep.

You are the steady in my crazy life.
The beautiful relief from all the strife.
If everything should fade and fall away,
I know that by your side is where I'll stay.
Because you're the piece that makes me whole.
The quiet shelter for my weary soul.

It's in the little things you always do.
The way you laugh when no one's watching you.
You don't even try to stand out in a crowd.
But being loved by you has made me proud.

You are the steady in my crazy life.
The beautiful relief from all the strife.
If everything should fade and fall away,
I know that by your side is where I'll stay.
Because you're the piece that makes me whole.
The quiet shelter for my weary soul.

People spend their lifetimes searching high and low.
For a love as deep as the one we know.
But I just had to look into your eyes.
To find my absolute favorite prize.

Yeah, the world is moving fast.
But you and I are built to last.
You're my favorite view.
It's always been you.
