My Gentleman Jim Poem by Linda I. Weischedel

My Gentleman Jim

As I lie here in my bed,
I am remembering all the beautiful words that you have said,
my saddened thoughts keep circling and spinning around in my congested head.
Romantically you can't be a part of my life anymore,
my slowly beating heart just wonders what is in store,
are we worth fighting for?
You are a man with a precious heart,
we have a fair background being friends from the start,
if she wasn't in the picture we would have never had to part.
I crave your gentle touch,
and I know that you miss me very much.
I feel so sorry for you,
yet there is nothing I can do,
I detest the notion in default having to say we are thru.
Chance of finding someone like you in the future are slim,
believe and trust in my words when I state that I love you my gentleman Jim.
