My heart and I have taken flight
into the air that I might write
a song for all the angels to hear
and play it on their harps by ear.
My heart and I will not stay still.
We’ll soar like birds and always will.
For whosoever can stop this thing
that beckons me so I may sing?
Not even the tiniest angel of all
will allow my heart and I to fall.
For the song I write will be of love
and sing of praises to heaven above.
And if perchance some sounds find their way
back on earth where they will stay,
my heart and I will thank the angels on high
that they let my song on earth never die.
