My Heart And My Soul, Aware And Awake Poem by Mohammad Younus

My heart and my soul, aware and awake;
My faith and my belief, I seek from them;
I don't seek guidance from sources,
Outside the two;
Divine knowledge that I obtain from them,
Is beyond my expectation;
My God lets them lead me,
Ignoring the hesitation of my evil mind;
Old and uninstructed though I am,
Yet chosen by grace I am,
Through intuition and inspiration:
To know the reality and follow the truth,
The Secret of the human race and the universe;
To defy the norms of satanic self,
And break free from its clutches;
I follow my heart and soul,
The ears and eyes of my divine intellect;
In a world of follow-the-gurus and school masters,
I do not rely and trust on them,
For they falsely claim to be prophets true;
My way is special and unique,
Against all norms and tradition;
No classes do I take in the Sufi retreats,
For getting the divine teachings;
My faith and belief, beyond human teachings!

Dervishes love and admire gnosis and wisdom,
But they imitate not others;
Their faith in journeying all alone on this road,
So bold and great!
