My heart is in Kentucky
It is where my soul is free,
It is where I am happy-go-lucky
Wherever that I might be.
I love our creeks and our rivers
And also our mountains and the hills,
This is where Mother Natures beauty delivers
And where she gives us adventures and thrills.
I love the beauty of the dogwood
And the delicious taste of the papaws,
I still remember them from my boyhood
When I walked and explored, just because.
Kentucky is where my parents were born
Underneath a blue Kentucky sky,
Where roastnear is roasted corn
And here in Kentucky is where proudly I will die.
