My Heart Is Not My Own Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

My Heart Is Not My Own

My heart is not my own.
You've got too much of it.
My home feels all alone...
Without you there.

I am too aware of you.
What you've done...
I wish I knew,
To remove it!

My heart is not my own.
You've got too much of it.
My home feels all alone...
Without you there.

I am too aware of you.
What you've done...
I wish I knew,
To remove it!

All my nights,
You haunt my sleeping.
And all my days...
I'm close to weeping.

What is it that I must do,
To get over you?
Am I still in love with you?

My heart is not my own.
You've got too much of it.
My home feels all alone...
Without you there.

What is it that I must do,
To get over you?
Am I still in love with you?
I think you know this too!
