My Heart Stayed Poem by Linda Barnes

My Heart Stayed

Rating: 3.5

I awoke that morning
Full of love and hope
Feeling the morning's sun
My skin being stroked

Reminiscing from the nights glow
Of your hands moving slow
Gentle yet ravishing
Loves passion lasting

Perfect in every way
Until I saw you later that day
Two bodies embracing
Like lovers dancing

Instant heart break
Attacked my being
Not comprehending
What I was seeing

To be so brazen
Expressing your affection
With your new lover
I had discovered

I left you that day
Not listening to what you said
Wanting my love to fade
Realizing my heart stayed
