My Insolence Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

My Insolence

You are wrong.
I do care what I say.
And where it is done I do it.
You are confusing what I say,
With...
When I say it and who is listening.
There is a difference, you know?
And I could care less about that.

You see...
People who may be offended,
And become uptight by my biting...
Were offended and uptight long before I arrived.
They are just attempting to make me an excuse,
To enable them to vent about their quality of life...
While having others believe,
My 'insolence' has tarnished their decaying standards.
