Good Morning & Welcome dear adorable readers to 'HAPPY SATURDAY WITH AN EMINENT POET' the weekly Interview Program of WRITERS' MIRROR, ASSAM, INDIA and its unit Mirror's Literary Criticism.
Today, we are presenting the interview of Hasmikh Mehta, an eminent poet of international repute from Gujrat, India.
Bipul Ch Kalita: - Good Morning dear Sir. I'm happy to have you as our guest of honour today.
Our readers will be happy if you say in brief about yourself, dear Sir.
Hasmikh Mehta: - I am an ex-serviceman from the Indian Airforce and served there for 18 years.. I joined Oriental Insurance Co.Ltd and retired from there also in 2007. I have been in the literature field since 2009. I am a published poet and have 2 books in my name. I have earned two gold medals, a doctorate, and a fellowship in literature.
Bipul Ch Kalita: - Why do you write dear Sir?
Hasmikh Mehta: - I write for self-satisfaction and due to my love for literature, it is my hobby and to date I have composed 27400 poems
Bipul Ch Kalita: - What/Who inspired you to be a poet?
Hasmikh Mehta: - From childhood, I was a reader and that led me to write as I understood from my point of view.
Bipul Ch Kalita: - How would you like to define Poetry?
Hasmikh Mehta: -
Poetry is an obsession
clear passion
quest for human relation
and purely divine revelation
the poetry is in blood
and serves as food
if properly understood
and serves as good
poetry has divinity
and has got blessings from an almighty
it has a longing for humanity
and stands as service literary
poetry is self-inspiration
that gives an indication
how pure is your heart!
and how best can you remain as path

Bipul Ch Kalita: - Who are the classdical, romantic and contemporary poets the you like the most?
Hasmikh Mehta: - I love to read Robert Frost and Shakespeare. I like to read truth experiment and that prayer song 'Vaishnav jan '
Bipul Ch Kalita: - What, according to you, is the overall standard of contemporary global poetic literature written in English?
Hasmikh Mehta: - Literature in form is divine. Perception may differ but it is a reflection of society and time that existed therein.
Bipul Ch Kalita: - How do you feel when you interact with the global poets, especially through Facebook?
Hasmikh Mehta: - I, sometimes, differ with their viewpoint so I
supplement by replying in verse, an entire poem.
Bipul Ch Kalita: - Please share one of your latest poetic creations.
Hasmikh Mehta: - Here it is-
Spread no rumours
Rumours
it creates flutter
it also develops anger
the mind rages for reprisal
it is one kind of attack
that wracks
personal life
and brings in irreparable strife
Only rumour mongers appreciate
and relate
it often in a friend circle
and create tension in the minds of people
pay not any attention
and keep cool in the relation
else it shall cause thaw and deterioration
apart from causing mental strain
no doubt, it shall cause some damage
but needs to manage
take calculated risk
and give a kick to such rumours

Bipul Ch Kalita: -. Do you think that Poetry can change the world, especially the war prone zones, to peaceful ones?
Hasmikh Mehta: - Provided human hearts change and long for peace, else my answer is no
Bipul Ch Kalita: -. Do you think that Facebook poets have been properly evaluated in print media?
Hasmikh Mehta: - Not only paid with scant respect but not appreciated too.. Only some people get confided in groups and feel themselves fine with little certificates.
Bipul Ch Kalita: - What suggestions do you have for our groups?
Hasmikh Mehta: - Entertain quality poets. Pead one and post one. This shall encourage newcomers.
Bipul Ch Kalita: Thank you dear Sir. What suggestions do you have dear Sir, for your co-poets?
Hasmikh Mehta: - Copy nobody, have your own version, let it be laughed at, but stick your own ground
