My Lady With Eloquent Eyes Poem by Harley White

My Lady With Eloquent Eyes

Rating: 5.0

[Song lyric pertaining to Elyse's vow of silence, from my version of "The Wild Swans" by H. C. Andersen...]

KING sings (to ELYSE) :

I see in your smile the bluest skies; —
I hear soft rhapsodies in your sighs; —
I sense in your soul a silence wise, —
My lady with eloquent eyes.—

My lady, my lady, my lady, my lady—
my lady with eloquent eyes.

To find you was such a sweet surprise; —
You made the sunlight of life arise; —
With you my future happiness lies, —
My lady with eloquent eyes.—

My lady, my lady, my lady, my lady—
my lady with eloquent eyes.

Let the heavens sing you lullabies,
As the moon and stars do harmonize; —
May ours be a love that never dies! —
My lady with eloquent eyes.—

My lady, my lady, my lady, my lady—
my lady with eloquent eyes.

(Repeat twice :)

My lady, my lady, my lady, my lady—
my lady with eloquent eyes.

My lady, my lady, my lady, my lady—
my lady with eloquent eyes.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
[Song lyric I wrote for my version of "The Wild Swans", from: One Two Three a Trilogy - Three - "The Wild Swans" - a rendering in musical theater by Harley White - based on the Fairy Tale by Hans Christian Andersen (1805 - 1875) . This song refers to the silence imposed on Elyse by her pledge not to speak during the time she is knitting the tunics to break the spell of her brothers having been turned into wild swans...]

Included is a rough sound recording of myself singing the song with my original melody...
