My Less Sober State Poem by Matthew Holloway

My Less Sober State

Rating: 5.0

My less sober state
Drowns all that's good
Bright and beautiful
Leaving little to be loved

My less sober state
Questions a strangers face
In reflection and deeds
For though it was me
I was not him

My less sober state
A dubious accountant
To a live only half lived
Any audit would recommend
A time to change

Well written poem, to know the change has to come from within is half way to the needed change. A 10!

This is excellent my friend. I would revise the line" to a live half lived" I think that is what you meant was tto a life half lived. This is transparent poem that touches the topic of alcoholism and the outlook on life. A need for change cries out in the poem! A 10!
