My Life - Poem by Rosemary Doyle

laying back in in the grass

watching birds fly past

seeing clouds drift on high

the colors changing towards night

they turn from pearl to pink

stretching all across the sky

a breathless moment

just for my eyes

watching images take shape in the clouds

seeing faces i knew once

and faces ive come to know

a beauty beyond control

i let my heart weap slow

the skyline ever changes

the sun sets and rises

with every passing morning and night

i lay here thinking

this is my life
