My Life And Me Poem by Prem Nizar Hameed

LIFE recently advised me in a threatening voice
That it would do this, it would do that, it would not do,
It would make each and everything upside down for me;
With equanimity, I soon replied to its ears:
'Don't boil too much on the stove, I shall foil everything;
If I just turn the knob to the 'off 'mode suddenly,
And elope with my girlfriend DEATH, your haughtiness and
Arrogance will come to an end! So behave yourself,
And concentrate fully on the duty of living'
My optimism soon stared at me, I just winked at it!

Now LIFE is very polite, decent and competent;
Beating LIFE with the stick of positive energy
At times is a remedial solution to teach
My LIFE the proper lessons in the right perspective!
