Hasmukh Mehta ji left us for his heavenly abode,
A painful news to everyone who knows him very well;
So many poems he gifted to this column for years,
Many a poet received his gracious comments on his
Unique style of poetry format every now and then;
Kudos to his magic pen, which hadn't spared any subjects;
He won many prizes, and was conferred with some titles.
Journey of his physical presence ends though, he will live
In the world of poetry through his great works; Om Shantih!
(An Acrostic Poem composed with 14-syllable lines: First letter of each line spells out HASMUKH JI)
He has been criticized a lot for his voluminous output. One must look at his passion, his dedication, commitment and sincerity. We had fights and different opinions but he was an individual with his own philosophy and identity.
I am not aware of his awards, recognitions, prizes and certificates. He left not only this site but also the mortal world. We have not treated him well.
I don't know how far this news is true! It's a great loss to Poem Hunter. He was a prolific writer who contributed a lot to this poetry site in the best of his abilities despite severe criticisms. I have not properly assessed this poet though I have read many of his poems superficially.
I am impressed with the combination of structure and content! Excellent tribute!
Thank You, dear friend Prem Nizar Hameed for letting us know of his demise through this acrostic. True, Hasmukhji will continue to live in our hearts through his poems, and the love are he had for fellow poets
Hasmukh Amathalai, as his name indicates, is the smiling face of PoemHunter. It dips me in sorrow to know that he is no more. I have often been a recipient of his benevolence in the form of comments and suggestions on my poems.
It is such a tragic news for the poets community at Poem Hunter! I just can not grasp the truth.Thank you Prem Nizar Hameed ji for your ACROSTIC poem honoring one of the greatest contempory poet Hasmukh ji! As you said, 'he will live In the world of poetry through his great works'

We lost a family member. As a person and a poet, he is unique of his own style and stature. We can't find another Hasmukhlal ji. I salute this poet. He can't die. Poetry has made him immortal. Pray God to bless his soul where it is now.
