She was such a elegant woman,
In days long since gone by.
She loved to roam the fields and woods
Beneath a sunny sky.
We shared this love of hiking,
We swam in waters blue.
We jet skied and we danced,
And daringly skydived too.
Little did we dream that these,
Were all the years we had.
That shortly after celebrating,
Tragedy would hit so bad.
It grieved my heart for years to see,
This spirited woman laid low.
To never join in laughter's cheer,
So filled with hurts and woe.
Afflictions followed year by year,
And fears filled her mind.
I dreaded when her eyesight failed,
Oh God, must she be blind?
But God in His infinite Mercy,
Took my love to His home above.
She can roam once again in that beautiful land,
Safe and secure in His Love.
