My Love Is Pure Poem by Raj Dronamraju

My Love Is Pure

I found you in a room filled with 200 different spectacular alternate lovers
Alternate timelines, each one with a different Twilight Zone type ending
Each one looking for an opportunity to jump in as a replacement

So courtship was potential places to meet
How to lie to routine so routine doesn't get suspicious
Routine's growing fury
Routine's growing fangs and following behind with gasoline and matches

Proud impatience being diluted by the female personality
The way those women did things, not capable of understanding their plans
They confiscate spontaneity and then return it to you in an unrecognizable form
Hold still and wait for something familiar to appear
My love is pure

Believe me, no one will be home tonight
I'll have the place to myself
Courtship is anticipation
It takes a certain type of woman....
It was worth every time a woman said no to me to finally catch up with her
My love is pure

Forget other intentions
I live in the now
Tune out the past and tune out the future
We are happy desperate idiots who exist only in a series of moments

The luxury of multiple objectives
Start to complete these objectives
Fail to complete these objectives
Instead, I'll serve out time carved out by focus
The attentive know only their work
My love is pure
