My Name Poem by Daniel Brick

My Name

Rating: 5.0

I have never been fully visible.
Perhaps in some angle of view my soul
is outlined by the light imparted
at my creation. But that has faded,
my illumination has faded, even the stars
that made my nativity visible have faded,
as new stars, more aggressive, more endowed
with brilliance have eclipsed them,
extinguished their planets and moons,
and left a desolation in the sky
my feeble human light cannot penetrate.
So I am slowly becoming fully invisible,
but not transformed into Spirit...
So I will be a lesser being at my death
than at my birth. I am one whose name
us writ in soul-dust, or even worse
in flesh-dust. Oh, where in the chambers of
Space, on the shelves of Time, in the swirl of
dark matter into dark energy, will we be rescued
and truly seen by the spirits that abide?

This is so Beautiful Daniel. Yes our bodies fade into the soil, into soul-dust (or the lesser flesh dust) . In the sparkle, the twinkle of blue eyes, one can see the sentient being that still rests inside the compressing flesh. I guess this is the way of humans and this we can not change. However, with poetry and working fingers we can still strive to connect, to matter (literally!) , and most importantly, to wonder. Lovely writing here Daniel.

Hey, Daniel! I have felt what you express here. Years ago I put it as something like box within box within box within box with me feeling I was the innermost one many layers from view. These days I take comfort in those few moments of revelation that convinced me God saw me, and in Jesus' words that not a sparrow falls without God being aware of it, and that we count for much more in God's sight. It's interesting to think of fame and realize that someone might be a household name in America but unknown to most of the billions of people in the rest of the world. One who loves, however, is famous with God. Meanwhile, humanly speaking, you are known and appreciated by me and others within the PH orbit and who knows who else. Peace peace peace... Glen

A deep philosophical write, probing the human soul without which we have no identity. Our spirit is aligned with the spirit of the universe from which we derive our energy n without which we are incomplete. Profound write. A 10.

I took an autumn walk that day and let my thoughts wander. When I came home I wrote the poem quickly without revision. I wanted to fix on the emotional abandon. Your comment is very apt.

Soul is outlined very deeply and clearly in the imparted light. This is not fully visible to us but still we realize self efficiency and inner power. Illumination has faded and even the stars fade on arrival of sun. Aggressive and negative aspects we leave behind while we get tender touch of God's wisdom. Spirit swings in between invisible and visible worlds. Wisdom brings transformation for soul through timely change and we realize this although this is invisible. An excellent poem is penned beautifully is deeply philosophical...10

This is a thorough and beautiful response to my poem filtered through your shining imagination - as poetry should be by a reader. I think you have a stronger faith than I do but I'm delighted my poem spoke to you with such clarity and hope.
