My Once Dead Heart Poem by Rachel Hughes

My Once Dead Heart

Once my heart was ripped at every seem.

And buried in a graveyard made of broken dreams.

I left my heart in the past.

Alongside all my shattered dreams.

Until the day you came along.

And showed me all my dreams weren't gone.

In your love you raised my heart.

and in your love my heart lives' on.

(chorus)

Love has dawned and gave it's light.

Morning has come to an endless night.

My once dead heart now beats again.

My once dead heart now breathes new life.

Verse 2

You have awakened my heart, and it's still at rest.

My once dead heart has been quickened at last.

The day's my heart spent dying.

Are all gone with the past.

No one could resurrect my heart but you.

My heart now lives' and breathes in you.

My once dead heart now beats again.

And it's all because of you.

(chorus)

Love has dawned and gave it's light.

Morning has come to an endless night.

My once dead heart now beats again.

My once dead heart now breathes new life.

This is sad but beautiful... I could just wonder how emotional and touching the song version would be.
