My Prayer Poem by Amitava Sur
My Prayer
Whatever pride, egos and desires
Are still remaining in me
You help me to eradicate and forget them for good,
Vacating my confused and ambivalent mind.
Once, I am free from them
I know for sure, I’ll be a victor then.
The door of peace followed by wisdom
Will open immediate,
Enabling me to view the golden Lotus
Being situated in the center of my holy heart
With that calmness and content of mind
The flower will blossom with it’s aura so bright,
Awakening my conscience and inner eyes with light.
The existing mind being evoked will then be elevated
To a far greater height,
Where this mind will be connected with the pure unstained soul
In presence of the Absolute,
Who has nothing but more than anything, you can imagine! !
It is that ABSOLUTE who is firmly existing within non existence
It cannot be seen, yet can be felt like air or any other energy.
The root and the creator of anything and every thing.
But that ABSOLUTE remains unseen,
And does not require any shelter too.
Thus an Absolute is an Absolute only, a unique identity,
Having no shape, no death, no beginning nor any end.
I intend to witness You
Through the enlightened path of peace.
Help me to feel proud of myself
Realizing to be a portion of the endless You.

HELP ME TO BE PROUD OF MYSELF / REALIZING A PART OF THE ENDLESS YOU - This line speaks mist eloquently to me if a Higher Being who can absorb me in his larger being but also guide my stumbling steps to live a better life. PRIDE is the right word, not vanity which is unworthy but pride in serving a Higher Reality
