My Responsibility Alone Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

My Responsibility Alone

My responsibility alone

Yes, it is painful
When it turns out to be sorrowful
When one partner is turning hostile
And abuses or threatens meanwhile

It is too alter to address
Or retrieve the lost face
So much water has flown down the river
Now nothing can be improved or altered

How can it happen over night?
How come he exchanges blows and fight?
It was disgusting to think under liquor's spell
Otherwise he was so gentle and well behaved

Now I think water has gone above head
I failed to judge or read
I must decide quickly on issue
There is no time now for review

I shall stand on my own feet
Work hard and feel fit
Children shall be my responsibility
I shall read them with the blessings from an almighty
