My Season Of Praise Poem by Chris Jibero

My Season Of Praise

Rating: 5.0

Shout a thunderous hallelujah
With me somebody
For the safe delivery
Of my season of praise

Though the promise tarried
But heard I,
'Wait on the Lord
And in the Lord
For it is not wasting time
Don't be guided by what you see
But by the Spirit and your faith
For sight afflicts but faith heals
Sight kills but faith resurrects
Sight robs but faith rewards and restores.'

Truly, God does not lie
He promised and has made them come to pass
For in affliction, reeling in pain and discomfort
Wobbling from pillar to post in distress
Like a leper cast away
Did I call unto Him
And He healed me
And saved me from all destructions

And I won't forget
That storm came calling in tow
And tugged at my wears to expose me
To shame and abuse
And I hollered to my God
And He appeared
Calmed the threatening storm
And stilled the raging waves
That desired to nibble at my feet
Standing on the Rock

And why won't I remember famine
That was the apprentice
Of the former
Always bearing their tool box
To tighthen all nuts and bolts
Left loose by its malicious masters
But I ran not to Egypt
Nor to Abimelech
But to the Lord
And He supplied all my needs
According to His riches in glory
By Christ Jesus

And now know I why cubs
Lack sustenance in the presence
Of their strong parents
But those who trust and fear God
Lack nothing good
For His mercy endures forever

So, to arise, shine
And to recover all
By His incandescent glory,
Come join me now and sing,
'O that men would praise the Lord
For His goodness and wonderful works
To the children of men
He has broken the gate of brass
In pieces
And cut the bars of iron asunder.'
