Myopic Optics Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Myopic Optics

We.
Me and you.
And others too who view.
Life.
To live it.
Bringing with us,
Familiar customs.
Comfortable from our environments.
To wish and want,
Others to adapt to them.
Without considering,
Where we trespass.
Or who has not extended,
An invitation to listen...
To unsolicited opinions.
We seem from our myopic visions.
Enforcing optics,
Upon others.
With a demanding to have them seen,
To replace and deface...
What it is we wish.
What it is we want.
And what it is from others to hear.
Wherever we are to go.
Not to broaden our perceptions.
But expect others to limit theirs.
Until we satisfy,
A narrow concept of how diversity...
Should appear.
And be accepted.
