Nanda Devi, Sunrise And Sunset Over Nanda Devi Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Nanda Devi, Sunrise And Sunset Over Nanda Devi

Nanda Devi mountain range,
One of the highest peaks
Of Garhwali Himalayas,
Nanda Devi
Flaming red,
Looking crimson in sunlight
Afire,
Crimson,
Red and glowing,
Catching fire,
Radiant with the glow,
How to take to,
Take to and describe?

Nanda Devi,
Bliss-giving Goddess
The peak named as thus,
The protector-goddess of Uttarakhand,
The circle of high mountains
Surrounding it,
Nanda, Sunanda
In Kumaon-Grahwal
With the villages
Scattered and littered over
By the lower ranges.

Nanda Devi,
The highest point,
The highest peak,
The abode of Nanda,
Nanda Devi,
The peak glowing,
Reddening,
Looking pink,
Beautiful
At sunrise,
At sunset,
Glowing.
