Needing Nothing. Poem by Fay Slimm

Needing Nothing.

Rating: 5.0

Love needs no words.
Words only require more from love.

Dreams need no thought.
Thought wants a cause for dreaming.

Faith needs no time.
Time demands favours from faith.

Peace needs no reason.
Reason limits the freedom of peace

Hope needs no motive.
Motive asks hope to publicize love.

But love needs no words.
Words only require more from love.

Hi Fay - This is a lovely poem about five of the most important human qualities / emotions we can experience. love - dreams - faith - peace and hope. Your poem assures us that respectively these qualities require - no words - no thought - no time - no reason and no motive. I agree with you Fay because the qualities are pure and complete in themselves and in their intensity. We can therefore add nothing to them and, a priori, take nothing from them. I am glad you began and ended with love because the greatest of these qualities is LOVE. Excellent i score it a TEN. Love you in poetry - JOHN
