New Day Poem by Daniel Brick

New Day

Rating: 5.0

It is the Morning of the World.
Great shafts of light pierce
what seemed in the depth of night
to be a permanent darkness. Already
the World is not just lit by bright
streams but it shines as if an answering
light from its interior is being lifted
out and up to join the sunlight pouring
down. How can we resist this double radiance?
It is time to come out of hiding, and join
the others in this age of candor and
the bitter truth. There is even less reason
to hide yourself today than there was yesterday,
and in the infinite line of tomorrows assembled
across space, meaningful life is manifold.
Indeed, this is a time of wonder. You feel it,
don't you? I want you to feel it like a promise
fulfilled. The doubt that may still hold
part of your soul in thrall will soon be loosened,
and your heart will be free to pursue its loves
in this double light from within and from without.

Beautifully crafted poem, a call to the man to feel free and come out of the darkness and face the reality

Hey, Daniel! I have limited time to comment—and of course PH will limit me. That said—I like this! Especially infinite line of tomorrows assembled across space. The language, choice of words, strikes me as inspired. Cool! -Glen
