New Way Of Shopping Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Today, it's the first time in six weeks
We left home for grocery shopping.
We traveled together to the parking
Then we departed inside the building.

My wife handed me a shopping list
While she held another list for herself.
I was just a helper, not an errand specialist
So I was glad to collect what was on the list.

We brought two separate car keys
So we had access to the car when in need.
To the car, my wife made two trips
As she had a long add-on to the list.

Leaving the Giant food store, we drove to Walmart
To buy cat feeds and garden seeds.
We covered the mouth with a cloth as a new normal.
Inside the store, we departed with two shopping carts.

For now, we have enough for six weeks
Our food, cat food, and things that we need.
Hoping, when next trip, life will be more normalized
For this community and nationwide.
