New Year Poem (Five Lü) Poem by Luo Zhihai

New Year Poem (Five Lü)

★ New Year Poem (Five Lü)

☆ Poetry by Liu Changqing (About 726- About 786-, Tang Dynasty, China)
☆ Translation by Luo Zhihai (1954-, China)

In New Year homesick heart is thick
Alone I can’t help weeping in the remotest place
In old age, under others’ roof still
Before me returning steps of spring
In south of the Five Ridges live with apes night and day
By the river, willows and I face to the wind and rain
Like Changsha Fu’s demotion
From now on it will take several years and make a long stay

★ 新年作(五律)

☆ 刘长卿 诗

乡心新岁切
天畔独潸然
老至居人下
春归在客先
岭猿同旦暮
江柳共风烟
已似长沙傅
从今又几年
