New Year's Resolution 2017 Poem by Laquory Jones

Welcome to the New Year of 2017 my New Year Resolution
Is to make history I'm just an visionary an emissary of poetry
A Picasso with the artistry blatant imagery is what I'm giving you
So there's no way I'm leaving you no matter what I have to do
I'll be forever fighting through Fires of Enlightenment I came to
Enlighten and ignite a fire from deep within the souls until the
Very source of light refracts through swivels and cracks not
Stopping until it reflects back my words ringing in perfect
Intervals through the eardrums like violins I'll be your Vicodin

Relaxing minds of the stressed because life is full of it never
Less but through trials I'll continue to do my best and you do
As well because we as humans have to be bold that's the
Only way to break through this mold at least that's what I've
Been told too many thoughts that I keep on hold but I was
Taught to never fold even when I have been scolded my
Hands never folded each day I fight and my thoughts becomes
Like clouds in the sky bringing forth it's insight breathing in
Life outright and that's when I figured out my way through
Perseverance while endurance began to out-pour as it
Began to squeeze out these thoughts that I keep in-store so

How could I express myself through these words all I ever
Wanted was to be heard there's no reason for you to be
Deterred I'm just giving you my lessons learned still there's
No bridges burned so there's no reason for concern success
Became my hunger what doesn't kill you only makes you
Stronger Mongers couldn't vitiate my thunder I couldn't
Stand it any longer as you drift away through my fingertips
Although the pain's maybe swift the pride still takes a hit as
Emotions sits and does double takes I was almost on the verge
Of quits while going in and out my wits caused by a lack
Of confidence becoming the culprit But I'm back and have
Re-surfaced through determination and Re-focus so take
This poem as my token of words to inspire I'm lighting fires
The Fire Igniter while opening new profound desires
