No Lament For Saddam Poem by Terence George Craddock

No Lament For Saddam

Rating: 5.0

news flash: postmortem
death mask Saddam
truth hung out

to dry publicly
that long war in Iraq
was a policy change:

it was about
stripping Saddam
of allied power

after previously
supporting his
puppet regime

to control
arab oil
all

intelligent
minds
recognize

self serving agendas
fleeting alliances
in politics

flicked away former alliances
changing international agendas
friends allies becoming enemies?

who decisions decides fall previous rise
of one of the CIA's most notorious assets
eliminate Saddam knew too many secrets
