No Mean Disclosure Poem by moon batchelder

No Mean Disclosure

it seemed no mean disclosure, - all the same
a portion of her heart was quite immune
to partial revelations, as to stain
of shadow in the corner of a room.

nor felt compelled as moth unto the flame
to fling herself toward single glimpse of light;
but held to reservations, - lest some game
should singe her wings; inhibit future flight.

who more was bound 'twere difficult to tell.
so secretive he was, and she, reserved.
and both reluctant to abandon hell
lest heaven were a treasure undeserved.

thus ever nothing ventured, - nothing gained,
and cleverly, the two - alone- remained.

Great write. Nothing is sadder than being together all alone.
