No One But You Has Been In My Dreams Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

No One But You Has Been In My Dreams

But I am still mending.
Parts of me are not at peak.
Parts of me are still very weak.

'But it is you and all of you I seek.
Weakened or not,
You will return to your peak.'

Even if I am currently weak,
You would still want to be with me?

'What I see,
Has already strengthened me.
And you with me together,
Makes that oneness I seek,
That much more complete.'

But I am still mending.

'You will return to your peak.'

Even if I am currently weak?
You would still want to be with me?

'That may be hard for you to believe,
But not me!
You and I together makes that oneness I seek,
That much more complete.
You see yourself disabled.
To me you are my dream.'

No one has ever said that to me.

'And no one but you has been in my dreams.'
