The end of the poem is everything; that's all that really matters, whatever we forget is still there, in our mind, somewhere stowed, well distilled and the purity comes out shining and shouting, 'you are my friend.' Great, nimal
You were obviously impressed by the wisdom and gentle dignity of the Native Americans. I feel similarly about my Australian Aboriginal brothers and sisters. Perhaps we are finally learning that 'civilization' has many forms and guises and often simplicity is more important that clever gadgets. Your final line sums it up perfectly. We do not deliberately forget Nimal - -and the last line in this verse speaks for itself - - the wisdom of the first nation american is the proof.... this feeling of friendship with all is the answer which will one day conquer the world.
