I have been lied to, used and cheated on
I have been used like a pawn,
When friends needed help I was always there
With muscle or money or even a prayer.
But, when friends forgot what they had sought,
I forgave, but I have not forgot.
To me many promises were asked and made
To help I did not once forbade,
And when they made their promises unto me
I believed it and I took it with all honesty.
But, when they ignored what I did or bought,
I forgave, but I have not forgot.
I thought that each one was truly a friend
Them I would always stand for and defend,
But, they broke their oaths and their promises
They were all like doubting Thomas's.
When they took all that I had brought,
I forgave, but I have not forgot.
As I now sit and moan and do without
Unto them I will not moan or cry or pout,
I will not ruin a friendship with hopes, promises or lies
Those will never ever be my pleads or cries.
When I gave them all without a worry or thought,
I forgave, but I have not forgot.
One day I will be judged by almighty God
He alone will know a fraud,
God will know mine and everyone's moment
Because, he is Omnipotent.
Will he look at me as he once had gazed upon Lot,
Saying I forgave, but I have not forgot.
