Not Like You - Poem by Jason Robinson

I am not like you
this I know is true
Deep inside is the untold
numb from the freezing cold
This life of mine I can't feel
trapped within this crooked deal
I seem to live without a soul
and a heart as black as coal
There are those who love me
but inside the dark they can't see
I give you no reason to fear
but I'm the hunter and you're the deer
You can see through the smile that is a lie
clear sight to the truth that we can't deny
Is it the evilness that hunts within
or the constant knowledge of sin
that makes you fear who I am
Just because the Blood of the Lamb
has not cleansed this dirty soul
does not mean I am not whole
Unlike you I can live without light
I am surrounded by eternal night
You see me as the freak in this great show
but I'm still the unknown you want to know
Contained in my sould are truths that rather hide
and the road to this knowledge is one you can't ride
From heaven I have been shoved
in this hell I am feared and loved
One thing I cannot deny
when I need but cannot cry
there is nothing you can do
because I am not like you
