Not Virtue, Value Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Not Virtue, Value

Not virtue, value wins nodding face,
Gold has a higher hold
And necklace amidst breasts begets place,
Silver for less is sold,
And anklets far down a lowly space.
A sonnet sits at tops,
Limerick far down drops,
Poor thing gets a good laugh, not much grace.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Two points are made here. First, more than virtue it is value in life. Second, first impression is the lasting impression.
