Not With Me - Poem by Hasmukh Amathalal

She was like rose flower
As if suddenly emerged after rainy shower
She spread fragrance in family
We all took her as gift from almighty

She may run from here and there
As we may all watch keenly at her?
She was dear to all and truly loved
Her words were worth to be believed

I was so near to her and supported
She remain for everything closely related
We were not acting as sisters but friends
That was how we spent time till her end

Her sickness turned from bad to worse
It was not noticed at first
We were taken by surprise
The noble soul was to depart before sun rise

We both struggled to come out of it
She may smile with joy and greet
But her face started turning pale
She was not in position to tell

She could read on wall
We were ready to respond to her call
It was her last wishes
We wanted it to finish

She may not remain with us
We thought for a while and trusted
Left completely to almighty
There was no time to feel sad and sorry

She starred at me and whispered
I could make out from her murmur
She wanted my hand in her hand
She smiled with pain to be true friend

Today she is not with me
Yet I feel bonded with memory
Why to feel sorry for rest of time
When she comes in dream and smiles sometimes
