Note Poem by Thomas Plotz

Note

Just a Note -
I was unable to finish, the note you wrote to me,
The degree of the key struck a chord, you see,
Needing to put the note away, for another day,

Now I'm reeling, with feeling, wanting to quit my job and
Follow you; that wouldn't be a bad thing to do,
Not much of a job anyway, buy stocks this day sell it on another,

Guess I'm just longing or yearning of simple days, in hectic times of tempo,
Working late nights, then driving to the next city - pretty; but, long window time
I'm not talking of the bands I follow and like, but the flow of the ones I played in,
Sometimes forgotten fading in and out; from the small town hokey, low-key to
Three big Name road bands; I didn't stay long, a tour or two, EP cut
When they got big, then replaced me with a better player,
We agree it was for the best, it wasn't because I sucked;

It is the way it was, for the soothsayer told me so…

Brands and strands, strings, and things, riddles and rhymes,
I bet you didn't know I played, even did a gig in a subway station
Some frustration, when people steal your tip jar! ! !

Maybe you saw me there, maybe on TV, maybe a face blurred to the side,
Zoomed and locked on the lead singer - not me, I played
Bass or the keys, or horns of trombone, sax, or trumpet, french horn, box drum

The original band members know me still, for I hear the stories that they tell, and
They tell it well, and I thank them for it; for 'It's all about family's love, and keeping memories. Without your memories, you lose who you are.'
There is even a small band named PLOTZ! , horns baby…
Maybe I should Run to Follow you; that wouldn't be a bad thing to do…

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Little about me. - I am having fun, Remembering the past! The Note was about a verse I read; not the Journey of the fall. It chocked me up, and I turned off the record letter for a while. I don't want this to end! ! ! I heard what the Kids said, and just wanted to express my love and thanks, to you all. Also I took out the last line, in the poem. I put it in late and it didn't fit for me. Hell, I need to Run to you.
