Note Of Excuse Poem by Marilyn Jean

Note Of Excuse

Imagine if we could
Only, for us two
Decide on the spot
Or not, but just

Write it very slowly
On the back of leaves
In the wind let it dry
Or maybe if we wished

Raise it from the sea
And forget it all
Buried in the sand
For soon under the sun

Tenderly be kissed
Any word could do
Because by nature
Just a welcome rescue

A note of excuse
An alibi to escape
For all that failed
Even more to forget

One day, my heart
Hanging wide open
Then most my mind
Wild or plain grey

So often all blue
So much I miss you
But in the middle
Love is so blind

It hurts me through
Love's absence grew
Longing deeply, true
Any excuse could do

Imagine the sunlight
When lives are astray
Us, just mad and real
Us and a touch of blue

But soon forgive me
I know you do too
For sure, so soon
Gone and excused
