Nothing Serious To Worry Poem by Prem Nizar Hameed

Nothing Serious To Worry

Breaking the silence
And controlling his emotions,
The bystander asked:
Sir, how is the patient? '

With all the emotions clogged on the face,
And borrowed some more sorrows
From the nearest Emoticon shop,
The doctor said:

'No sensation on the body
From the toe to the head,
The heart beats completely stopped,
The respiratory systems do not work further
The kidneys are not functional
The liver failed
The large intestine entwined with the small one
No blood circulation at all
The body is not responding to any medicines
Oxygen cannot be given
And cannot be put on the ventilator, too'

'Doctor, is the patient in the ICU or
Still in the operation theatre? '

'On the Postmortem table'

'Doctor, he is a diabetic patient'

'Don't worry, we will do it
Only after controlling his sugar level'
